Depth of Field

Depth of field (DOF) is the distance between the nearest and the farthest objects that are in acceptably sharp focus in an image. The depth of field can be calculated based on focal length, distance from the camera to subject, distance from subject to background, and aperture. A particular depth of field may be chosen for technical or artistic purposes.

Focal Length: 26mm, Aperture: f/25, Shutter Speed: 1/8sec, ISO 100

Focal Length: 21mm, Aperture f/22, Shutter Speed: 1/20sec, ISO 100

Focal Length: 20mm, Aperture: f/22, Shutter Speed: 1/30sec, ISO 100

Focal Length: 70mm, Aperture: f/4.5, Shutter Speed: 1/160sec, ISO 200

Focal Length: 50mm, Aperture: f/1.4, Shutter Speed: 1/8000sec, ISO 200

Focal Length: 100mm, Aperture: f/8, Shutter Speed: 1/5sec, ISO 100

Focal Length: 35mm, Aperture: f/1.4, Shutter Speed: 1/250sec, ISO 400
